trivum SC040m – multiroom streaming for your amplifiers

The SC040m turns existing or separate amplifiers into a full-fledged multiroom system. It feeds four zones via four outputs, either analogue or digital. At half 19″ width, two SC040m fit side by side in a rack.
A dedicated streamer for every zone.
Each zone has its own streamer. So every room can play something different – or you group rooms and hear the same music everywhere. Choose from AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, TuneIn, Deezer, internet radio with thousands of stations and streaming services for commercial use. New services are added automatically via software updates.
Eight triggers for everything that needs switching.
Eight trigger connections link the SC040m to the world around it. In the setup, you define for each one whether it works as an input or an output.
As an output, a trigger switches your external amplifiers automatically: link it to the status of a zone, and the amplifier only runs when music is actually playing there. That saves power and spares your equipment.
As an input, a trigger can fire any action you like. The doorbell starts an announcement, a push button turns a zone on or off. Via KNX you can switch the lights at the same time, or start a macro that runs several trivum actions in sequence.
trivum Matrix: share sources with zero delay.
With trivum Matrix, our own in-house development, you connect multiple devices directly with a USB-C cable. Their DSPs work together directly: each device accesses the sources of the others as if they were built in. Each connection carries four stereo signals digitally and losslessly. The SC040m has one Matrix input and one Matrix output, which opens up a lot of possibilities:
- Extend an SC344m with four more zones that use all its sources (4 × analogue, 4 × radio, streaming).
- Cross-connect two SC040m, output to input and vice versa. Every one of the eight zones can then access any of the eight streamers.
- Daisy-chain several Matrix devices, or feed two SC040m at once from a single M2.
Because the music travels directly from DSP to DSP, it doesn’t need to be synchronised over the network. Grouped zones play in perfect sync with no delay, the LAN is relieved, and the system is more resilient.
Grows with you, up to 64 rooms.
The SC040m can be combined with all other trivum multiroom systems. So your installation grows step by step – from an apartment to an entire house or hotel with up to 64 rooms.
