Vimar Celebrates 80 Years of Innovation and Sustainability

On May 1, 1945, Walter Viaro and Francesco Gusi founded Vimar in a former hat factory near Marostica, Italy.
Eighty years later, Vimar has grown into a global leader in electrical solutions, offering more than 15,000 products, employing 1,300 people, and operating 9 international branches. With over 200 patents, the company blends Italian creativity and design with innovation and technical expertise.
Vimar’s product lines—such as Eikon, Linea, Arké, Plana, and Idea—combine aesthetics with functionality, fitting seamlessly into any environment. The company has also embraced smart technology, providing systems for home automation, energy management, and security.
Sustainability is a core value. Vimar has significantly reduced its environmental impact by using renewable energy, recycling 97% of its waste, and adopting circular production models. Its new Linea series is the world’s first to use ISCC PLUS certified plastics, cutting CO₂ emissions by over 80% annually.
Vimar also supports employee development and works closely with schools and universities to invest in the next generation.
Still rooted in Marostica but with a global outlook, Vimar celebrates 80 years of growth, innovation, and what it calls “positive energy.”
